Beans is expecting! Strathcona Staffys litter #4

Happy New Year Staffy Lovers! We are so excited that our sweet girl Beans is expecting a litter in coming weeks, we've calculated her due date should be around January 20. She was bred with local staffy stud, Simba, who is a 5 yr old champion breed-standard brindle. This will be Beans' first litter and litter #4 for Strathcona Staffys that we've raised as a family over the past few years (the first three were from gentle mama Clover).

We've just sent out an email with more details to a list of interested people who've contacted us over the course of this year, if you'd like to receive it, please email us at strathconastaffys@gmail.com and we'll forward it to you.

Expect lots of photos & updates coming soon!

Staffy For Adoption - Ralphy

I recently got in touch with HugABull to let them know that Tuff Love Kennels wanted to make a $500 donation from Litter #3.  Some extra funds couldn't have come at a better time because they have a girl Gemma that just popped with 12 puppies!!
While getting the details together, they asked me to let everyone know that they have a Staffy pup that ended up in a shelter in Chiliwack. His name is Ralphy....sounds adorable! He is currently being fostered and I'm told he is prospering and a real sweety! If anyone is interested please contact HugABull.  Or you can contact me and I will put you in touch!  Spread the word, Ralphy needs a home!!
And so do Gemma's pups!! Check out the HugABull blog and help name the puppies.  Spread the word,  maybe we can help find homes for them too!

Thanks everyone!

Dog Logic

Speaking of the Annual Staffybull Walk...the funds raised are given to help lift the ban on Bully breed dogs in Ontario.  Here is a tid bit of logical information to help educate people on BSL ... and it involves ice cream and shark attacks

Staffybull Walk 2014

Another Staffy Bull Walk has passed and it was good to see everyone out.
A lot of familiar faces....especially since half the dogs there were Tuff Love.
The last couple of years, the showings have tapered off, but I bet it is just in anticipation for the 30th Annual Walk which will take place next year.
I heard that the most SBT's they have had out was 43.  Lets spread the word and let people know that next year they HAVE TO BE THERE!!!

Soft Staffys - Help Educate

One of our new owners is vacationing in the UK and send me this...

"Staffies are getting a hard time in London because wannabe thugs use them as status symbols or call non-Staffords "Staffies" so people and rescues have banded together to take out bus shelter ads to try and educate people on what real Staffords are like. We visited a famous rescue organization called Battersea and met some super sweet Staffies looking for their forever homes."

on the bottom it reads:

Despite misconception, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier is a loving, loyal and reliable breed.
We're standing up for Staffies.
We'd love it if you would too.
